After two trio albums (Grizzly, 2015 and The Optimist, 2019), Igloo is again welcoming the saxo�phonist Toine Thys and his band «Overseas» featuring the oud player Ihad Radwan. Their first project lies at the crossroads of Arabic music and hijazz modes, jazz and tonal improvisation, classical music and the rhythms of Brazilian music. After sharing Euro�pean stages at concerts and live projects, they recorded «Tamam Morning». This first album explores a 5-man formula accompanied by Brazilian per�cussionist Zé Luis Nascimento (Ayo, Césaria Evora, Jean-Luc Ponty, Al Di Meola, Oumou Sangare), the Luxembourg cellist Annemie Osborne (Tcha Limberger, Magic Malik, Marillion, Michel Mootz, OakTree), and an appea�rance by Dutch pianist Harmen Fraanje (ECM, Ernst Reijseger). These musicians meet and talk about their respective worlds. Their stories and their intonations are different and it is from these differences that we benefit. Simplicity and seriousness, joy and exploration, the quartet plays together with skill on opposites. It is a musical space where the integrity of these artists is respected, but where the taste of adventure and discovery remains essential. Their language is like a mood, black or white, hot or cold, circulating faster or slower than blood or thought, in invisible veins that are not located in anatomy manual. “Then it lives, it runs and it swirls with“ Istanbul Streets Kids” and it dreams again afterwards.
