'Masters of their craft, virtuosos on their instruments and as a team a very homogenous entity - KRAAN are regarded as the epitome of good taste. ' That is how a prestigious daily newspaper characterized the german band KRAAN after a concert - and there is probably no better way to describe the musicians Peter Wolbrandt (guitar, vocals), Jan Fride (drums) and Hellmut Hattler (bass). On their latest album 'Diamonds' they proof that this assessment applies not only for the past fourty years, eleven fabulous new songs which sound miraculously fresh, relaxed and at the same electrifying. 'Diamonds' is KRAAN pure! An audiophile delight with real addictive potential! KRAAN are without doubt one of the most innovative and successful German formations of the past forty years. Since the beginning of their career in 1971, the band made an exciting fusion of rock, jazz and ethnic influences and added their world of sound some fine pop and soul elements. Till now they released 13 studio albums which delight fans and critics alike, but especially on the stage the group regularly performed in top form. Unforgettable and a true cult album for rock fans is the Album 'KRAAN Live', which was recorded after three successful studio works in October 1974 in Berlin's 'Latin Quarter' by the legendary producer Conny Plank. It became one of the outstanding german jazz-rock albums of all time. On their new Album they make a perfect balancing act between tradition and modernity the reason of this is unmistakably due the increase of the artistic freedom of the new trio constellation.
