Performing as Baby Doll with Bill Campbell's Blue Notes for many years post war, Thelma "Dolly" Cooper earned her position as a much-loved Big Apple tunester and was snapped up by the Savoy people earlier in the 1950s. She has now signed with Buck Ram's agency and made a string of fine platters with both Modern and Dot on both coasts, backed by steller saxmen Maxwell Davis and Sam "The Man" Taylor, as evidenced by this scintillating selection.
