An exciting, 11-piece + guests, electric jazz / jazz-rock ensemble active in Paris since 2005, Ghost Rhythms have released 4 previous studio albums. They began their relationship with Cuneiform Records in 2019 with the acclaimed album Live At Yoshiwara.
Ghost Rhythms are one of the world's greatest, large, boundary-blurring ensembles and have won a number of prestigious awards in France. Even more astounding than that is the fact that none of the members of the group are full-time professional musicians - indeed, for most, this is their only regular band - but they are all fully committed and they assemble every Friday night for rehearsals that serve as workshops to try out new material and build up arrangements with input from all members.
"The fluid exchanges reveal how carefully considered both the harmonic and rhythmic interplay are between musicians and how each chart plays to the strengths of one particular musician or subgroup. Despite the musical sophistication and adventure on Live at Yoshiwara, this music is extremely accessible to a wide swathe of listeners. Its release signals the magnificent arrival of Ghost Rhythms on American shores. Get it now. " - AllMusic
