Founded in 1971 in Ulm, Kraan have become a cornerstone and true institution of the German rock scene. Few bands have managed to develop such a distinctive musical language over decades—and to continue evolving it consistently. At the heart of this is the unique interplay between exceptional musical personalities: bassist Hellmut Hattler, guitarist Peter Wolbrandt, and drummer Jan Fride form the creative nucleus from which the characteristic Kraan sound emerges. Five decades of shared musical practice have produced a depth, precision, and intuitive communication that cannot be planned—you can hear it. Even after the passing of longtime keyboardist Ingo Bischof in 2019, Kraan did not pause. On the contrary, as the core trio, the band embraced new impulses without losing its identity. Young guest keyboardist Martin Kasper integrates organically, adding a floating, modern dimension to the sound. Kraan have never been nostalgic caretakers—they are always seekers, respectful of their history but constantly looking forward. This is the essence of their enduring relevance: no one else sounds like Kraan. With the new studio album All In, released just two and a half years after Zoup, the band continues this philosophy with conviction. Twelve new compositions combine intricate grooves, melodic clarity, and electric tension into a work that feels familiar yet refreshingly new.
