When the force of life hits with full power, it can sometimes feel good to pause. This Time For Real from Hamburg give expression to this feeling in their music. In the quartet’s songs, the energy of pop-punk giants like Blink-182, Neck Deep, or Paramore meets the intimacy and vulnerability that could also be reminiscent of Phoebe Bridgers.
This Time For Real are a response to a time when self-reflection is often neglected, even though it is urgently needed. The band’s lyrics therefore deal intensively with struggles around love and emotional chaos. Their debut single “Hanging On” embodies this approach in full, telling the story of a profound self-realization wrapped in a melancholic sonic landscape.
