From the reflective folk of Peace of Mind to the hypnotic acoustic guitars of People Leave Their Lights On and the jazzy-swinging touches of Shiny Blue Hair, Moravek masterfully conveys emotion through sparse instrumentation and sensitive vocals. Themes of injustice (Chickenman’s Blues), wonder (Hush), joie de vivre (Kicking Stones), and humanitarian values (Station of the Heart) combine into a warm, poetically intelligent musical universe.
With Merry Ship Of The Soul and Carefree State, the album closes on a hopeful, lighthearted note, while its musical palette spans folk, Southern soul influences, and subtle psychedelic touches. The album was recorded with Moravek (guitar, vocals, harmonica) alongside Tomáš Skřivánek (bass), Christian Krischkowsky (drums), Andrej Polanský (viola, mandolin), Štěpán Vodenka (keyboards), and Wibke Becker (backing vocals).
