In 2001, Giovanni Mirabassi fulfilled a teenage dream: reinterpreting the revolutionary songs that had marked his life. With “Avanti!”, alone at his piano, the artist created the manifesto of his career. Against all odds, the project was a runaway success (70. 000 copies sold) and established the Italian pianist as a major figure on the international music scene. Riding this wave of success, Giovanni received the Victoire du Jazz award and the Django d’Or in 2002.
