Chinese violinist Yibin Li and French cellist Philippe Muller perform works by Zoltán Kodály, Darius Milhaud, and Maurice Ravel - a CD released on Continuo Classics.
Instruments of the violin family are designed to "sing" and blend together to create a rich, harmonious sound. *L’essence du duo* showcases a violin and cello duo whose sonic range extends from the deep bass register to the highest altitudes. The collaboration between the two musicians creates a harmony reminiscent of the interplay between siblings. Selected works - composed in the 20th century by three composers with distinct artistic voices - perfectly illustrate the interplay between the instruments.
