Guitarist and composer Frédéric Favarel presents his eighth album, "Kata, " recorded in Paris in the spring of 2025. This album explores an orchestral format, incorporating the voice as a melodic instrument, performed by Déborah Tanguy, Nelly Lavergne, and Ellinoa. The challenge lies in blending vocal timbres with electric guitar and double bass. Thomas Savy, on bass clarinet, adds a lyrical touch. The "miniatures, " duets with double bassist Marc Buronfosse, offer moments of improvisation between written compositions. The album evokes a balance between form and improvisation, similar to a martial "Kata. "
